# What You Need:

→ Cold Brew

01 - 1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee beans
02 - 2 cups cold filtered water

→ Vanilla Sweet Cream

03 - 1/2 cup heavy cream
04 - 1/4 cup whole milk
05 - 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup

→ To Serve

06 - Ice cubes as needed

# Step-by-Step:

01 - In a large jar or French press, add 1/2 cup coarsely ground coffee and 2 cups cold filtered water. Stir gently to ensure all grounds are wet, cover, and refrigerate to steep for 12–24 hours.
02 - Strain the steeped coffee through a fine-mesh sieve lined with a coffee filter or through the press to a clean container. Discard the grounds and refrigerate the filtered concentrate until chilled.
03 - In a small bowl or jar, whisk together 1/2 cup heavy cream, 1/4 cup whole milk and 2 tablespoons vanilla syrup until the mixture is smooth and slightly thickened but still pourable.
04 - Fill two glasses with ice. Pour the cold brew concentrate over the ice, filling each glass about three-quarters full. Gently layer the vanilla sweet cream over the coffee.
05 - Swirl the cream into the coffee with a spoon if desired and serve immediately for best texture and temperature.

# Expert Advice:

01 -
  • It tastes like a coffee shop treat, but you control every ingredient right at home.
  • The vanilla sweet cream is so lush, you’ll want to sneak extra over your glass (I always do).
02 -
  • I once rushed the steeping and served after only 6 hours—the flavor was weak and everyone noticed, so give it time.
  • Trying a finer coffee grind created a gritty mess I had to strain twice—always go coarse.
03 -
  • Let steeping be slow—overnight always brings out the smoothest notes.
  • Keep a batch of homemade vanilla syrup in your fridge for ultimate flavor control.
